Delete your Motion account
Signed in to the Motion Key app with Google? Here’s how to delete your account and every backup on our server. Everything on your phone stays.
With Google
Sign in with the Google account you use in Motion. We then ask you to confirm once.
With Apple
Sign in with Apple exists only in the iPhone app. Delete your account there: Profile › Delete account.
Can’t use your iPhone any more? A backup is deleted 12 months after its last upload, and the account the day after it has no backup and no sign-in left.
In the app
You can also delete your account in the app: Profile › Delete account.
What is deleted
- Your account: the one-way code of your Google account and your sign-in sessions.
- Every backup in your account, including each phone’s previous copy.
- Our database backups keep deleted data for up to 7 days.
What stays
- Everything on your phone: your alarms, modes, history and Keys.
- Your emergency-unlock count: it belongs to your phone, not to your account. In the app, Settings › Delete server data deletes its history; the count stays, so erasing can’t refill it. Our server deletes it once the app has not checked in for 60 days and the count would be full again by then.
- Motion+: that subscription runs through the App Store or Google Play, wherever you subscribed. Cancel it there.
